ISLAMIC THOUGHTS AND ENLIGHTENMENT WITH IBN ABDULMALIK

OBSERVANCE OF THE MISSED DAYS OF  RAMADAAN  BEFORE THE OBSERVANCE OF  THE SIX FAST OF SHAWWAL (BY THE WOMEN) "As-salamualaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh”. Beloved readers and commenters May Allah ease our affairs here in this world and the life to come (Aamiin). Well, today we gonna be cross examining  a little breach of understanding on the issue of whether to pay the missed days of fasting during the month of Ramadan before commemorating it with the six from the month of Shawwal or commemorating it with the six from the month of Shawwal before paying back the missed fast from Ramadan. May Allah accept this effort from us the composer and you as the readers. بسم الله Bismillah May Allah bless you and your family with Guidance and Istiqaamah, that the position held by the Maliki, Shaafi'i and Hanbali Schools (in accordance with one of the narrations from Imam Ahmad) is that it is permissible for a woman who has missed some days in Ramadaan to delay its Compensation ...

AS 2019 BATCH B STREAM 1 CORP MEMBERS EXIT THE NYSC

Image
The National Youths Service Corps was birth after the civil war by the Military administration of the then head of state General Yakubu Gowon on 22nd of May 1973, specifically, to heal the wounds of the civil war. Since its establishment, 47 years ago, young Nigerians have embraced the scheme over the years and have used the platform provided by the service to bring development to their respective communities of deployment.  I'm particularly elated, that the service year ended successfully for these industrious and indefatigable young men and women of our country. Your sacrifices to your fatherland are very much appreciated and can never be quantified. The communities you diligently served are not unmindful of your contributions.  Corp members travel hundreds of miles to states and communities they have never been, they are greeted with culture shock, and a new environment they ain't comfortable settling in. Yet, for one year, these young Nigerians leave these communities bett...

BOOK REVIEW: THE BUSINESS OF 21st CENTURY BY ROBERT T. KIYOSAKI

Image
PART 1 The author Robert kiyosaki is renewed for his works, rich dad poor dad series. Kiyosaki developed several multi million dollars businesses and retired at the age of 47. He dedicated his retirement to helping people build wealth and live the lives of their dreams.  He is a best selling author,  and a social entrepreneur. THE RULES HAVE CHANGED Kiyosaki explicitly outlined how the global economy is tremendously being transformed from its reliability and inconsistency, riddled with outsourcing, downsizing, foreclosures, subprime mortgages, credit default swaps, ponzi schemes, wall street fiasco, recession among others. He also emphasized the the rising scenario of unemployment in the United states which stood at 10.2 % as at 2009 and how most Jobs and investments that were earlier termed as secured are scrubling before our very eyes.  Also in a survey in  the United  States, 60% of Americans polled that ...

SALVATION IS HERE.

Rom.13.11 - And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The lock down of religious centres especially the church has caused a lot of controversy but in times like this, Paul reminds us that now is our salvation nearer than before. Now in your homes, you can still see the salvation power of the Lord.  Now in the market, you can still see the salvation power of the Lord changing the hearts of people. Now, this time! This hour! Despite the lock down, we still see the salvation power of the Lord.  If only,  Thou canst believe, Thou shall see the glory of the Lord.  If only,  We awake out of our sleep, We will see God's salvation power. Selah, God bless you. Pastor Olugbami Emmanuel  Markudi  Emmanuelosiaabomo@gmail.com

LATE P.N.B DANIA, A QUINTESSENTIAL EDUCATIONIST

Image
Am still trying to find the right words to convey how I feel about your demise. Daddy was so dedicated to his duties as a father and a teacher.  Years may have rolled by, but you will forever remain indelible in our hearts. I remembered my first day at Mayfair, the school you tenaciously built from the scratch, I wasn't really happy leaving home for a boarding school, but daddy was very supportive and I promptly settled. I haven't seen a teacher who is as committed as you were, and I do not think I can find another as diligent and dutiful as you.  Its pertinent to note that, for everyday that I spent under your guidance and tutelage, you instilled in all of us, the essence of time, the need to be clean and ensure our environments are tidy and the need to push, to be better than we were the previous day. For six years, even at old age, you will wake us up by 4 am, ensure we are present for your 7am class, and no matter how large the  population in class was, you will still...

MUST WE ALWAYS COPY

Nigeria since her Amalgamation in 1914 and independence in 1960 have always waited in the wings for others to act and we copy. This act has now been entrenched in our national lives and has gradually crept into our religious circle. The kind of political and religious leadership we have over the years have further exacerbated this malicious trend and if left unabated, will continue to give us negative image in the international community.  The reason why our case is always different is the fact that people who we entrust the affairs of this country are over dependent and xenocentric ( seeing people way of doing things superior to yours) even on religion issues. Islam is not a religion of Saudi Arabia but that's of the entire world the same Islam they are practicing is the same we are practicing with out any exceptions. I don't think they perform any upgraded version of five daily prayer over there, it same thing we are practicing and we both use the same Quran. We have our own ...

AS MUSLIMS MARK EID FITR

Image
Muslims all over the world celebrate the Eid Fitr to mark the end of the Ramadan fast and it is celebrated on the 1st day of shawwal, according to the Islamic calendar. As Muslim faithfuls mark this year's Eid even in the midst of covid 19, we should use this opportunity to pray for our dear nation and extend our hands of love to our neighbors, friends and well wishers. As we celebrate this feast, let's not be carried away by the fun fare that comes with it and disregard the covid 19 guidelines. For muslims in Kano State and other locations where the lockdown was relaxed to enable them attend the Eid prayers, they must reciprocate this kind gesture by strictly adhering to the government's directive on social distancing, wearing of face masks, washing of hands and use of hand sanitizers. We must not endanger the lives of family and community. The Nigerian muslim community must use this moment as a sober reflection and ensure that their actions, and daily lives are guided by ...

ASIDE THE MONETIZATION OF OUR POLITICS, YOUNG ASPIRANTS MUST DO MORE TO BE ELECTABLE

Image
Politics they say, is a game of numbers. More than half of Nigeria’s estimated 200 million population are youths, aged from eighteen to thirty-five years. The united Nations, makes use of ages to classify who a youth is, as it relates to education, employment and other entitlements. The united Nation defines youths “as those persons between the ages of 15 and 24 years”, but other member states have clearly defined in their own terms, which people are classified as youths in their respective countries, Nigeria inclusive. The Nigerian National Youth Policy 2009 states that “youths shall comprise of all young males and females aged 18 to 35 years, who are citizens of the federal republic of Nigeria”.  According to the Independence National Electoral Commission INEC, out of a voting population of 95.8 million, 60 million, representing 63% are young people aged 18 to 35. What this implies is that, with coordinated and concerted efforts, young people can actually call the shots at all le...

ON THE EARLIEST TIME THE ZAKAATU AL-FITR CAN BE GIVEN

Image
ISLAMIC THOUGHTS AND ENLIGHTENMENT WITH IBN ABDULMALIK  Ustaz Ibn Abdul Malik "Assalaamu alaykum, dear brothers and sisters in faith. On a lighter note as today may mark the end of the month of Ramadan or so, I just want to make some clarification on the timing of Zakaatu Al-Fitr”. Bismillah,  May Allah illumine my heart and yours, that there is little difference among the Fuqahaa regarding the earliest time that the Zakaatu Al-Fitr is to be given out. The position of Maalik and Ahmad bn Hanbal rahimahumullaah is that it may be given a day or two before the Day of Id. These number of days is also stretched to the third day before Id according to Maalik, depending on the needs and the conditions of the people. They evidenced their position on the Statement of Abdullah bn Umar that the Companions would give their Zakaatu Al-Fitr a day, two days, or three days (according to Naafi the Mawla of Ibn Umar) before the Day of Id. The position favored by Ash-Shaafi'i and Abu Hanifah is ...

LETTER TO MY LATE DAD ON THE OCCASION OF HIS FIFTH REMEMBRANCE

Image
Dear daddy, When our love ones transit to the great beyond, as firm believers of the pre-ordainment, we have to take it in good faith. ("Nothing shall ever happen except what Allah has ordained for us". Qur'an 9:51). So on this note, I firmly believe your death was clearly destined to happen at the time it did, when we were least prepared but I do not overly feel troubled about it because Allah has decreed these matters to occur and his decisions are his and his alone and we cannot question them as humans. It's so difficult for me to sketch this piece out, to be candid, I do not know where to start from. Is from the memories I had why growing up under your care, your excessive display of love and affection for everyone who crossed your path, or the mentoring and private moments we had like a father and son? Well, like every well known endeavor, let me just begin even though words cannot exactly elucidate my feelings. Today 21st of May makes it exactly 5 years since y...

HOW JOSHUA EGESI IS BLAZING THE TRAIL IN ART

Image
Joshua Egesi a university of Benin student, Edo State, Nigeria,  is carving a niche for himself and the nation in general, in the arts industry.  The student's incredible genius has translated into one of the finest arts in the continent. The student artist made a portrait of the vice chancellor of the university using over six thousand disposed bottle covers. The imposing art is 11ft by 7ft portrait. Joshua in an interview (not with decosule.blogspot.com) revealed that the portrait is the largest in Africa. Josh's ingenuity has further shown that with the right support and conducive environment, our young talents if well harnessed can reposition the nation and set her on the pedestal of greatness. Below are the photos of the art.

THE PAST IS GONE FOREVER, MOVE AHEAD!

Image
There is a popular saying among most Historians, Archaeologists and Sociologists alike that the past is a prelude to the future. But what if our past had been riddled with failures, inconsistencies, excuses and redundancy? Does it now invariably translate into a bleak future for such individuals? I think we should holistically evaluate where we are coming from and its effects on where we are now and where we are going to. By brooding and thinking over the past and the problems associated with it, we may even loose resolve to live for the present moment. Those who have a firm purpose do not actually duel much on the past, they always think about the present because the past is gone and done with; sadness cannot retrieve it back, being withdrawn cannot put things in right perspective and depression will never bring the past back to life. "He don happen, he don happen". The past is actually a non existent entity, why duel much on it when you have the present and the future to g...

INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE BOY CHILD; MATTERS ARISING

Image
Very few individuals are aware that every 16th of May is set aside globally to celebrate the boy child. In consonance with the mood of the moment, I decided to write this piece to bring to the fore the challenges, stigma, stereotype and pride that comes with being a boy and by extension man. Over time the girl child has generated so much furore in our society, we treat everything that consigns them with utmost care and diligence, we give them special attention, and we give them extra allowances to ward off the opposite sex. But not much can be said of their male counterparts. Am not saying parents should not look after their girls, but they should put the same energy too in raising their boys, there should be a balance. From childhood the boy child in most cases is left to deal with his emotions and trauma.  The society encourage the boy child to bottle up his emotions because he is a boy. He is never allowed to express his feelings because if he does, he is regarded as a weakling ...

YOUNG NIGERIANS MUST BE AT THE FRONTLINE OF NATION BUILDING

Image
Hey! Young Nigerians, am not here to mince words. Its so saddening that we have lost faith in our abilities to turn things around. We may not have the best of leaders, but we should be conscious and warry of the ambience we found ourselves. Our leaders have reduced and balkanized our politics to a state of conviviality to the extent that issues that affect us as young people are now relegated to the background. In the time past, most especially in the past five decades, young Nigerians who distinguished themselves in business and military circle, provided sound and effective leadership that set our nation on the solid foundation it stands today. In contrast, what we are seeing today is a vast revisal of past trends. Young people are now very docile, most are so apolitical and aloof to happenings around them that you would wonder if they can even perform the simplest civic responsibility of voting. Some who muster the courage to, instead of choosing credible leadership, join the bandwag...
