CHRISTIAN CORNER: WHAT IS YOUR CALLING?
Monday! Is the first day of the work week, normally it should be a great day but sadly it's one of the worst day for many people. Why?
Most people don't like Mondays because they don't like their jobs. Most people are at their various workplace, simply because they couldn't find something better or because it pays their bills.
Only, very few people in life actually love their jobs and this is the reason for most of the unproductivity we see from most employees.
So but why do these people hate their jobs?
Because deep inside them, they know this isn't a what they were created for or they were made for more than what they are doing. This emptiness or feeling is the reason why most people don't like their jobs.
That's why, you can start with a job but don't end with a job.
You need to find your calling.
What's the difference between your Job and calling?
Your job is what you are paid to do, your calling is what you were made to do.
Your job is a means of livelihood, your calling is the source and reason for livelihood.
Your job is temporal and has only temporal value, your calling is eternal and has eternal value.
Your job gives you a salary but your calling gives you fulfilment.
You can be sacked from your job but no one can sack you from calling.
Your job is from a man but your calling is from God.
Therefore I urge you today, if you don't want tomorrow to be just another Monday.
Find your calling today.
But how do you find your calling today?
You find your calling by finding Jesus. Peter was a fisherman in a village but his calling was to be an apostle to nations. Matthew was a tax collector, Paul was a lawyer but their callings were greater than their jobs.
Find Jesus and you find your calling, just like they did..
God bless you.
